October marked the third consecutive month of growth in passenger car registrations in the EU, with +12.2% and 745,855 units sold overall.
Looking at the main national markets, Germany recorded the best performance (+16.8%), followed with double digit figures by Italy (+14.6%, with 115,827 registrations, 14.7 thousand more compared to October 2021) and Spain (+11.7%), while France kept growing at a slower pace (+5.5%).
From the whole ten-month period since the beginning of the year, demand for new passenger cars went down by 8.1%, with about 7.5 million units. Italy posted the worst result (-13.8%, with 1,091,894 units, almost 175 thousand less than in the same period last year), followed by France (-10.3%), Spain (-5.8%) and Germany (-5.5%).
