Demand for new commercial vehicles dropped by 8.5% in October, marking the sixteenth negative monthly result in a row, with 132,360 units all across Europe.
Except for Spain (+1.2%), all major markets went down: Germany -12.4%; France -5.3%; Italy -3.9% (with 15,788 registrations, about 650 less than in October 2021).
The overall bad performance mainly depended on the contraction of LCV sales (-13.9%), while other segments posted significant growth: Trucks +16.0%; Heavy Trucks +18.0%; Buses & Coaches +24.4%.
From January to October, commercial vehicle registrations in Europe declined by 16.8%, totaling 1,316,863 units. Ten months into the year, all biggest markets recorded double digit drops: Spain -20.9%; France -19.1%; Germany -15.4%; Italy -10.4% (with 156,796 registrations, over 18 thousand less compared to the same period last year).
