Commercial vehicle registrations in EU increased by 12.4% in June, totaling 185,573 units overall. Looking at the main national markets, Germany led the growth with double digit figures (+28.5%), followed by Italy (+5.3%, with 18,665 registrations, 945 more than in June 2020), while Spain and France slowed down (respectively -3.1% and -9.4%).
Among the segments, Heavy Trucks and Trucks grew significantly (+37.1% and +33.1%), while LCV (+9.6%) and Bus & Coaches (+9.4%) expanded at a slower pace.
From January to June, demand for new commercial vehicles reached +36.9%, with over 1 million units sold. With an eye to the biggest markets, Italy posted the highest performance, with registrations going up by 53.7% in the first half of the year (111,099 units). Spain stands in second position (+38.4%), followed by France (+36.4%) and Germany (+21.7%).
