Except for Spain (+3.4%), all main national markets contracted: Italy -6.6% (with 139,509 registrations, nearly 10 thousand less than one year ago); Germany -4.3%; France -2.9%.
From January to May, demand for new passenger cars increased by 4.6%, totaling almost 4.6 million units, with growth among all biggest markets: Spain +6.8%; Germany +5.2%; France +4.9%; Italy +3.4% (with 725,751 registrations, about 24 thousand over the same period last year).
Looking at the different power source, battery-electric represents 12.5% of the market, while hybrid-electric 29.9%. Petrol was still the first choice (35.5%), while diesel the third (13.0%).
