After the negative numbers posted in May, demand for new passenger cars increased by 4.3% in June (with 1,089,925 units), pushed by the expansion of three of the four main national markets: Italy +15.1% (with 159,982 registrations, nearly 21 thousand more than in June 2023); Germany +6.1%; Spain +2.2%. On the contrary, France lost 4.8%.
Six months into the year, passenger car registrations grew by 4.5%, totaling almost 5.7 million units with positive results in all biggest markets: Spain +5.9%; Germany +5.4%; Italy +5.4% (with 885,731 vehicles registered, about 45 thousand over the same period last year); France +2.8%.
Considering the power source, in June battery-electric represented the 14.4% of the market, diesel 12.7%, hybrid-electric 29.5% and petrol 34.4%.
