Demand for passenger cars in EU remained stable in July (+0.2%), totaling 852,051 units overall.
Among the four biggest markets, Italy posted the best result (+4.7%, with 124,940 registrations, about 5.6 thousand more than in July 2023), followed by Spain (+3,4%), while Germany and France contracted (respectively -2.1% and -2.3%).
From January to July, passenger car registrations increased by 3.9%, counting over 6.5 million vehicles registered, with growth in all main national markets: Spain +5.6%; Italy +5.2% (with 1,011,563 units, 50.4 thousand over the same period last year); Germany +4.3%; France +2.2%.
Petrol was still the first choice (33.4%), followed closely by hybrid-electric (32.0%), while battery-electric represented the 12.1% of the market.
