In January 2021 demand for new passenger cars kept declining, totaling 141,462 units, -7.2% compared to one year ago.
In contrast with the general trend, France posted growth (+5.7%), while all other major markets contracted: Spain -29.3%; Germany -17.1%; Italy -6.7% (with 14,692 registrations, over 1,000 less than in January 2020).
All segments posted negative numbers: Buses & Coaches -24.1%, Trucks -5.8%, Heavy Trucks -3.3% and LCV -7.1% (having the biggest impact on all European commercial vehicle registrations).
