After the bad result recorded the previous month, demand for new commercial vehicles in Europe grew by 1.2% in February, totaling 156,444 units overall.
Except for Italy (+10.1%, with 18,381 registrations, nearly 1.7 thousand more than in February 2020), all main national markets declined: Spain -15.3%; France -5.3%; Germany -1.9%.
Looking at the different segments, Heavy Trucks and Trucks posted growth (respectively +8.8% and +6.6%), LCV increased slightly (+0.4%) and Buses & Coaches lost 10.0%.
Two months into the year, commercial vehicle registrations declined by 3.3%, totaling 297,651 units sold all across Europe. Among the biggest markets, Spain contracted with double digit numbers (-22.0%), followed by Germany (-9.6%), while France remained stable (-0.2%) and Italy expanded by 1.9% (with 33,048 vehicles registered, about 600 more than in the first two months of 2020).
