After the slowdown recorded in December, demand for new passenger cars in Europe increased by 12.1%, totaling 851,690 units overall.
Looking at the four largest markets, Germany posted the highest numbers (+19.1%), followed by Italy (+10.6%, with 141,885 registrations, about 13.6 thousand more than in January 2023), France (+9.2%) and Spain (+7.3%).
Considering the different power sources, battery-electric was the fourth choice, with 10.9% of the market share, preceded by diesel (13.4%), hybrid-electric (28.8%) and petrol (35.2%).
