Passenger car registrations in EU: +6.7% in November, +15.7% in eleven months

European car market grew for the sixteenth month in a row in November, with 885,581 units sold, +6.7% compared to November 2022.

Looking at the main national markets, Italy led the growth (+16.2%, with 139,249 units, nearly 20 thousand more than one year ago), followed by France (+14.0%) and Spain (+7.0%), while Germany lost 5.7%).

From January to November 2023, passenger car registrations in EU increased by 15.7%, totaling 9,681,752 units sold, with a significant contribution from the four biggest markets: Italy +20.0% (with 1,454,261 registrations, more than 242 thousand over the same period last year), Spain +17.3%; France +16.2%; Germany +11.4%.

In November, battery-electric cars account for 16.3% of market, while hybrid-electric are still the second choice (27.4%) behind petrol.
