Passenger car registrations in EU: +15.2% in July, +17.6% in seven months

European passenger car market increased by 15.2% in July, marking the twelfth consecutive month of growth and reaching 851,156 units overall.

All four main markets expanded: France +19.9%; Germany +18.1%; Spain +10.7%; Italy +8.7% (with 119,146 registrations, about 9.5 thousand more compared to July 2022).

Seven months into the year, demand for new passenger cars in Europe grew by 17.6%, with 6.3 million vehicles registered. From January to July, the four biggest markets expanded with double digit figures: Spain +21.9%; Italy +20.9% (totaling 182,064 units, about 22 thousand over the same period last year); France +15.8%; Germany +13.6%.

In July, battery electric cars rose to 13.6% of the market while hybrid electric remain the second choice (25.6%).
