European commercial vehicle market: -20.3% in June, -33.7% in six months

Commercial vehicle registrations in the EU fell by 20.3% in June, with 165,283 units sold overall. Except for France (+2.2%), all main national markets declined with double digit figures: Germany -30.5%; Spain -24.2%; Italy -12.8% (with 17,789 registrations, 2.6 thousand less compared to June 2019).

With an eye to the four segments, Heavy Trucks and Trucks posted the worst results (respectively -55.6% and -54.3%), followed by Bus & Coach (-41.5%), while LCV decreased with lower numbers (-10.4%).

From January to June, demand for new commercial vehicles in Europe dropped by 33.7%, totaling 748,421 units. Among the biggest markets, Spain posted the worst performance (-44.8%), followed by Italy (-35.4%, with 72,377 vehicles registered, nearly 40 thousand less compared to the first six months of 2019), France (-32.0%) and Germany (-28.6%).
