European commercial vehicle market: +0.1% in November, -20.3% in eleven months

After the slight decline recorded in October, commercial vehicle registrations posted a +0.1% in November, totaling 167,315 units sold all across Europe. This result was mainly driven by the expansion of both Heavy Truck and Truck segments (respectively +6.0% and +3.7%). On the contrary, LCV and Bus & Coach segments contracted (-0.5% and -5.1%).

Looking at the biggest markets, Italy posted the best performance (+11.7%, with 20,663 units sold, over 2.1 thousand more than in November 2019), followed by Germany (+4.3%), while Spain and France slowed down (respectively -7.0% and -3.1%).

In the last eleven months, demand for new commercial vehicles dropped by 20.3%, with 1,546,303 units overall, nearly 400 thousand less than in 2019. From January to November, all main national markets posted double digit declines: Spain -28.4%; France -18.4%; Germany -16.3%; Italy -15.6% (with 163,245 registrations, about 30 thousand less compared to the same period last year).
